Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Programme Buyer will be responsible for assisting various Indirect operations teams to define and action their supply chain needs, improve service level from suppliers, and develop a strategy to better secure their needs.
In addition, the Programme Buyer will own the supply chain system, ensuring the integrity of the data and guaranteeing the buyers visibility of the actions required to maintain their order books. You will raise and coordinate purchase orders across a range of internal stakeholders, and become the subject matter expert, continuously improving the data and reporting information, monitoring supplier’s quality performance by ensuring every supplier is fit for purpose. and validating alignment on product quality requirements to ensure product acceptance at the point of use.
In addition, you will drive supplier input into the company’s design to ensure manufacturability, cost points, and fit for purpose suitability, and identify and promote continuous improvement by suppliers and internally. Facilitate supplier engagement and the value stream from concept to service delivery.
Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain a commodity strategy for the Indirect category
- Purchase order management – Process requests to purchase from stakeholders, raise and expedite purchase orders, and manage order books with suppliers where appropriate
- Procurement systems management – Maintenance of the Supply Chain database, analysis and reporting of costs and service levels including forecasts & budgets
- Procurement category support and project management
You will be educated to degree level and ideally, MCIPS qualified or part qualified, with previous procurement experience preferably gained in a manufacturing engineering environment. Be highly IT literate, ideally with experience in P2P software. Other essentials for success in this world-class environment include the proven capability of extracting and analysing data and producing clear and concise reports to enable buyers to make commercial decisions. Your ability to establish and develop internal and external relationships will be essential for success.
You will be able to work from home 3 days a week, onsite 2 days a week.
